Mozambique Unlocked
Tue, 20 Oct 2020- Mozambique's President Filipe Nyusi announced late last month a number of important changes to the requirements for foreign travellers to visit Mozambique.
- The Komatipoort border post is currently open and 30-day tourist visas are being issued to South African passport-holders at the border.
- A negative Covid-19 PCR test no older than 72 hours is required to enter Mozambique. However children up to the age of 11 years old no longer require a test.
- A negative test on paper (SMS results are not accepted) will be considered valid for 14 days. This means that travellers may enter and exit on the same negative test within 14 days.
- There is no longer a quarantine requirement for any traveller who enters with a negative PCR test.
- Mozambique will re-commence issuing visas to non-SADC visitors from 2 November.
- Wearing of masks in public transport and public places is mandatory. Hand washing, sanitizing and social distancing is encouraged.
